Olive #4

Olive number 4, Olea europea sylvatica, wild olive, collected in Croatia in 2009. Last image as of March 2010, just before I got it. Nowadays olives are almost always styled to look like a juniper that wants to look like a pine that was styled by Kimura. I want to get away of this. If in art something has been a fashion for a while it is a good idea to do something quite different. My olive does not know that it is a bonsai, it just wants to look like a large olive and it dose not need deadwood to prove this.
The top is still too flat. But it is just a matter of time and it will correct itself. The third image is a virtual to show a better top as it will look like in tow or three years. The wonderful pot by John Pitt seems to have just been made for this tree.
